Woah, how is it already the last day of September? I feel like I’m still writing August when I write out the dates. Scratch that, I’m still writing 2014… how are we 3/4 of the way through 2015?
Earlier this month I made the decision to start pulling all of my old blogs together. It hasn’t been easy and it is far from complete but it has been so much fun to go back and read blog posts I wrote 15 years ago (yes, YEARS) back before a blog was called a blog. It has been a really fun project and I’m trying to track down my first online diary from my two years of website design back in 1998 and 1999. Those should be interesting (like the time I got thrown in the trash…as a joke).
I don’t expect the project to be done anytime soon, but I feel like some of those posts were written ages ago and some just happened yesterday.
September was a month that brought back some really good memories. My mom & I got to spend some time visiting my host family in France. So much has happened in 11 years but at the same time it feels like just yesterday I was standing on the train platform in a foreign country with a language I barely spoke.
We joked about “eating the cat” (we really didn’t eat the cat), mammmmma and rum raisin ice cream. We talked in 4 different languages. We ate some of my favorite food. We laughed like it was yesterday that we were teenagers trying to get through high school. We spent a few minutes wandering the streets of Bourges and taking in the sights.
It set the tone for the rest of the month and I keep flashing back to the summer I spent there. The summer of 2003 was unforgettable and an adventure I would encourage any high school kid to try if they have the opportunity.
After we got back from France, I thought that September would slow down. Boy was I wrong.
From Popcorn Festival to football games our weekends stayed filled even though we had very few things planned. Little man and I visited Toledo, took a number of evening walks, beautiful sunsets and went down the slide about 4,000 times. We played in the sandbox, drew pictures with chalk & read stories from his (current favorite) VeggieTales Bible Storybook.
This month completely flew by. It is safe to say time flies when you’re having fun. The month hasn’t been perfect, there have been some not as good parts but not as many as the good ones. It has been a pretty fun month and I think I’m ready to face October.
What was your favorite part about September?
September is my favorite month! With the leaves changing, the wine festivals in Niagara, apples being picked! What’s not to love! September did fly by at a very fast rate! I hope that live starts to slow down a bit, it’s been to busy

I agree, I hope things do slow down a tiny bit. I’m looking forward to some downtime this month!
