Last year around September I declared that no one I knew was allowed to have a baby in 2011… Little did I know that the world was planning to double in population this year.
I’m SO incredibly excited for my cousins Guido and Laurel as they are welcoming a baby boy into the family sometime in the next month. The general rule of thumb in our family is that no baby is complete without hand knits.
This one will surely be covered in them!
When I found out they were expecting, I hurried online to find some sweater patterns. I’ve always wanted to knit the Tulip Baby Cardigan and I knew that this would be the sweater for them. After impatiently waiting to find out if it was a boy or a girl, I finally got the kit for the Sweet Baby Boy, Tulip Cardigan from Coldwater Yarns. (For the record, they ship FAST!)
I love this cardigan, despite the i cord bind off that went on forever, this was such a quick knit and so much fun to knit. Watching the colors change was addicting.
Project Details:
Needles: Size 5 and 7
Yarn: Dream in Color Classy
Colorway: Sweet Baby Boy (modified to include extra green instead of brown)
Size: 6-9 Months
The sweater shipped out last Saturday, so I’m hoping it’s arrived by the time this goes up. 🙂
I would recommend this sweater to anyone who is looking for a baby sweater to knit. Coldwater yarns has some great kits to keep you from having to buy full skeins of the yarn.
I can’t wait to meet my new little cousin!
Love it! I’m sure they will too.
