The weather has turned and the last bits of summer are 100% gone. That means I can finally accept that fall is here. I’m still ignoring the fact that it snowed on Halloween.
With that, it is time to breakout the apple recipes!
I bought a few extra apples this weekend as I had seen a few recipes floating around Pinterst for baked apples in the crock pot. Obviously I’m obsessed with my crock pot at the moment so I decided to take advantage of the smell and made these Old Fashioned Slow Cooker Baked Apples yesterday morning.
We have been taking Overnight Oats to work a lot so I thought it would be a good thing to have a few leftovers of to mix in with our oats this week. I can’t wait to try it with them.
There are two reasons I will make this recipe again.
- It was sooo yummy
- My house now smells AMAZING
I won’t lie. the main reason I made these on a Sunday was so I could soak up the smell of baked apples. So good.
Alterations
I kind of made these on a whim this morning so I did not have the “all spice” or the cranberries. That was okay by me though and no one else missed them.
The other alteration I made was swapping out two of them to have Splenda instead of brown sugar. These came out just as good and I would definitely do it again for all of them.
