I was debating a run tonight. Part of me was exhausted and I had plans to run tomorrow and Sunday, yet I was not thrilled with only sneaking in 2.28 miles yesterday. I was talking to my husband and he’s like “go for a run,” so I did… Except I had just eaten dinner and had a major fall down and go boom over a bag of Jelly Belly‘s (hello Easter candy) earlier in the day.
I was not my fastest run lately, overall it was 3.1 miles in 29:09. It still came out to be around 8:40 a mile but I was feeling like crap by the end of it!
Talking with a friend today it’s funny how quickly running has evolved for me (her as well). Just three months ago I celebrated the victory of running 1.5 miles on the treadmill for the first time in just under 10 years. I was so dead tired and out of shape but I was excited. Now a “normal” run for me is 3 – 3.1 miles.
I also have to laugh at how quickly my body now reacts to food that is not good for you. At a banquet last night I was having a conversation with my sister in law about it. With as “healthy” as I eat now if I have a really bad day, my body really lets me know it. Last night we had chicken, green beans & mashed potatoes overly soaked in butter. While they were HANDS DOWN amazing, my stomach felt it this morning. I kind of just wanted to curl back up and go to bed again. We won’t talk about the fact that the little man was up having a party last night!
Recently, I was reintroduced to Old Navy. I used to like their clothes but last year when I went into the store I was convinced that there was nothing good for me and I just was too old for the style. (Please all join me in a WTF). Really I just hated how I looked in everything. This year I have become OBSESSED!
Kind of on a whim last week (as it tends to happen) I bought a tank top from their “Activewear” section. I had recently bought a pair of capris and was on the fence about them. They match my tank top so I decided to rock out with them tonight. I am super in love with this new tank top! I have never run wearing a tank top before recently so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about sporting the sports bra. It was so comfy and I have a feeling I will be living in these this summer.
