Happy December! How did that happen? I can’t believe it is not still February, this year is just disappearing. Anyways, we have some exciting news… thanksto Cassie at DIY Jahn, I have been nominated for the Liebster Award! While there is no awards ceremony, the Liebster Award is a way for bloggers to get to know other bloggers and share with their readers. This allows a community to form and new blogs to be discovered.
According the “official definition” in Google the Liebster Award is:
The Liebster Award is basically an award that is by bloggers, for bloggers. It’s passed from person to person to encourage connection and support within our writing community, and to aid in the discovery of new and upcoming bloggers.
Each blogger has 10 questions to answer from the person who nominated them. Then they get to nominate 10 more bloggers that they adore and provide them with 10 questions to answer.
Why and When did you start blogging?
Technically speaking I started blogging long before blogging was called blogging. Back in 1998 I started my first website called World Famous Gymnasts. As part of that website I had an “online diary” and for the most part I still have every single entry to that online diary. For the most part I’ve consistently kept a blog since then. Stay tuned, there is more on that coming as 2016 begins.
What inspires you to blog?
Life.When I first started my “online diary” I was in 6th grade (going into 7th). For the most part my blog has been about my life: moments I want to remember, things I found helpful, resources I love and just day to day interactions that might seem insignificant to others but that I want to preserve.
What is the most beautiful thing you have seen today?
Considering it is 5am as I write this, I’m going to have to say my giant cup of coffee.
How best do you advertise your blog?
Social media and some wonderful blogging groups I’ve become a part of!
What do you hope your blog will become in the future?
I hope it will continue to grow into my little community of friends that I used to find so comforting years ago in the gymnastics/website world.
What brings you the most joy & what are you grateful for?
My family and friends. I love them to pieces.
Where do you go to get your blogging questions answered?
Usually my first step is Google and my second is the wonderful blogging groups on Facebook.
What do you do when you’re not blogging?
Work, play with my little man, watch college basketball with my husband, go for walks, run, read books, photography, knit and enjoy life!
What is the best blog you have read recently?
I love a good mommy blog. Little Baby Garvin has become one of my favorite blogs over the years and is one I stop by every day to check out. Not only is she so creative but her posts always have such cute clothes ideas.
What do you hope your life will be like in 5 years?
This question is always so hard to answer. As I look back to where I was 5 years ago there are very few things that are the way that I expected them to be now. That is not necessarily a bad thing but it also reminds me that you never know what could happen. I just hope life is filled with happiness and fun family times.
