The season of Summer is in full swing (for real now). While I haven’t been able to enjoy the perks of sleeping in & lounging around, summer has been in full swing and I’m still sneaking in a short summer vacation! Even though the school kids (and teachers) summer vacation is coming to an end (all too soon) it is not too late for some Summer Vacation Friday Favorites!
Not quite vacation related but I scored The Under Armour Fly By Long Sleeve shirt for $16 at Dicks Sporting Goods the other day. I’m so excited as it makes for a great summer evening shirt but will also be great for fall running.
My goal before the school year kicks off is to have about a months worth of meals in the freezer. Not necessarily ones for every day of the week but I want to be able to pull them out once or twice a week and let them sit in the crock pot during the day. Last week I got six of them together. I’ve decided to try out this new site I found called Once a Month Meals. Has anyone ever tried it before? Like it?
These Healthy Chocolate Banana Pops look fantastic… although I kind of want to mix it all into a smoothie. I guess I’m on a chocolate kick lately.
This is a semi-local story to us but has made national news. Have you seen the Facebook post about the Indiana woman sets out to find young girl who was shamed because of her weight at county fair? As I mentioned it is semi-local to me and I have seen the post shared a number of times by friends but how incredibly heartbreaking for that young girl to be shamed. I think it is a great lesson and one that needs to be shared with all teens. The fair should be fun, food should be eaten & memories should be made.
A friend posted this wonderful letter a mom wrote to her kids about summer vacation. It is worth a read and makes for a great laugh. Little man is too young to qualify in this but I think its a great read for anyone who is or once was a teenager!
What is your favorite part about summer vacation? What do you miss most about summer vacation as a kid?
