After finishing Ready to Reach for the book tour, I decided to keep reading. Inglath Cooper had me kind of hooked on this series. One thing I did notice as the series went on is that they were between 90-150 pages so they were very quick reads. If you are looking for a great little series that you can read in a weekend (or two plane rides across the Atlantic ocean) I would recommend checking out the Nashville series!
Synopsis
A New Adult Contemporary Romance set in the heart of country music. . .Nashville.
Thomas Franklin has pretty much everything he’s ever wanted in life.
Along with his two best friends in the world, he’s part of Barefoot Outlook, a superstar band in the country music world. And if he’s a little bit envious of the love Holden and CeCe have found in one another, he can accept the fact that he’s had more than his share of good fortune.
Finding a girl like CeCe? Well, that’s pretty much once in a lifetime.
In spite of Holden’s constant harassment about his playboy reputation, Thomas is content to play the field. Until, that is, his past finds its way into the present when he agrees to do a charity gig in Virginia with Case Phillips. There, he crosses paths with the only girl who had ever stolen his heart for real.
The last thing Lila Bellamy expects on the night her best friend Macy takes her out for a birthday celebration is to find herself face to face with Thomas Franklin.
Seven years earlier, still haunted by the tragedy of her mother’s death, Lila had found comfort in Thomas, and during the hours they were together, let herself forget for just a little while. It had taken nothing more than the light of day for her to realize that one night was all they were ever going to be.
Even though they had never seen each other again in all these years, Lila had never forgotten him. And not just because he had since become famous. Lila has another reason, one she’s never wanted him to find out about. But as she well knows, life can change overnight. And Thomas Franklin is about to change hers all over again.
My Thoughts
Yes!! Finally a book from the perspective of Thomas. I loved how he was a friend to Cece in Hammer and a Song and I was so excited to see it was his turn at a chance to figure out his life. While the beginning of Amazed makes things a little predictable, the story of Lexie makes it all worth it.
Both Thomas and Lila had a past and Inglath Cooper did a great job of letting readers learn about their pasts as the characters spent more time getting to know each other. Not only do I want to be Cece’s best friend, but I also want to be Lexie’s as well. Her personality was described so well and it was so easy to picture her whenever she was around.
As all romance novels tend to do, Thomas and Lila moved fast. As I mentioned in previous reviews the timeline gets a little lost in this series. I liked that for once we see a character not quite ready to move forward with things, someone to take it a little slow. Lila seems like such a sweetheart and I can see why the lifestyle Thomas lives scares her.
I just hope that in Sweet Tea and Me we see them in Nashville!
