After a much needed much deserved self imposed week off I am back at it! I won’t lie I’ve had a lot of fun over the last three days but the week leading up to it could’ve used a few stress runs. Time was not on my side so I am glad that I took my self imposed week off.
Today it was pretty humid out and there were a few rain drops. I knew that I wanted to get a long run in so I decided it was a good day to hit up the gym. We are switching gyms at the end of the month so I want to use up as much time as I can at our gym. I love it but it is too far to travel multiple times a week & in the snow.
I randomly decided that today would be a good day to run 8 miles. I haven’t made it longer than 7.5 miles & half marathon training starts this week so I figured I’d go out with a bang (or “boom” as my little man says). I tried to pace around 8:41 for the most part, it varied from time to time. After 60 minutes the treadmill automatically goes into “cool down” mode every minute so you have to keep hiking the speed back up from 4.5 to 7.2. Sort of annoying but I knew it wasn’t going to be too many times that I needed to do it.
Can I just say, it felt SO GOOD to be back and running. I know I needed the week break but I never thought I’d be this excited to get back to my runs.
So, let me explain the “Treadmill Selfie” situation we have going on here. Last week a friend of mine was complaining on Facebook about the number of people who post “treadmill selfies”, in other words selfies while they are running on the treadmill. I got into a discussion with another friend about how hard it would be to take a selfie while running. So for the heck of it, I decided to try today. I can honestly say, not happening ever again! It was funny nonetheless.
Have you ever taken “treadmill selfies”?
